ACTIVE SHOOTER RESPONSE

LEARN HOW TO SURVIVE A SHOOTING EVENT

Today employers are required to provide a safe workplace free from recognized hazards
that can cause death or serious injury to its employees. This requires a “hazard identification,
mitigation and control” response. Unfortunately in todays world, one of the “hazards” to be considered is an Active Shooter or Civil Disturbances.  It is especially important to prepare before a disaster occurs.

Leaders agree the formula for ensuring a safer homeland consists of trained and informed individuals that can take action to increase the support of emergency response agencies during disasters. Major disasters can overwhelm first responder agencies, empowering individuals to lend support. It is a proactive approach for employers to have a plan and train personnel of the “hazard” of an aggressive intruder or active shooter that wishes to do harm to people in the workplace.
